There were many press articles celebrating Edward Upward's birthday and the recent publication by Enitharmon of his newest collection of short stories - A Renegade in Springtime. His page on the Enitharmon web site is here.
The party was held at the Parkbury Hotel in Sandown, Isle of Wight (Map, Island Web Site)
Sandown has been the home of the Upward family for over 100 years, but the family has been on The Island for much longer, as this plaque on a building in Pyle St, Newport shows.
